Whatever you have heard about the recent Anita Blake novels and whether you think you would like it or not this is where it starts. This is a collection of the first 3 Anita books and they are basically harmless. While they do have murders and zombies etc (that is Anita's job) there isn't as much controversial stuff in these first ones. (Although I love all of the Anita books, new and old!)

Hamilton does a wonderful job of creating an entirely new world where the undead are accepted and the unusual is normal. You owe it to yourself to visit Anita's world and I would definitely advise buying this 3 in 1 set because once you start you are not going to want to stop!!

I had originally read each of these collected novels separately, and was tickled to find a SFBC book collecting them into a single novel. I am a fan of Anita Blake from the early, mystery and adventure laden novels, all the way up to the mystery and adventure heavily laced with odd vampire politics and a couple hundred pages of kinky sex.

This purchase allowed me to finish my hardback collection of the series. Long live the vampiric smut that is Anita Blake.
if you havent read this series yet, get this book, its got the first three books in it, all very good, best vampire series ever, and so much more, were animals, witches, necromancers, assassins, violence and gore, mystery, police work, just a well rounded series, shes got 19 books out and is still writing, can't wait for the next one, i've gotten several people at my work to start reading this series and now they are hooked. buy it.
I knew I was buying a used product. The pages are in pristine condition. The jacket has some "love", but so did my last copy. I have lost two copies loaning them to various people and they have never returned them. I plan to not make the same mistake this time! No more loaning out-of-print books ever again! Great product and great price. Will buy again.....other titles, I mean! )
I waited for a long time for this book I could not fine it any place til I saw it here and now it is with me everywhere I go I just can not seem to put it down .... it is funny in so many ways and then she lets you know that Anita Can take care of her self when it comes right down to it and everyone wants to think of her as one thing then she shows them just how wrong they all are .... The fact that Anita will not be backed down when she knows what is right to do even if it may kill her is something we could all learn ....for not everyone out here can care for them self .... and Anita will not let anyone tell her she can not do something or that she has to do it she will show them just how wrong they all are and does offen. I think everyone should read all her books in order.they seem to work out better for me this way and I can not wait to pick up the next book to see where I can go with Anita next.
I love Anita Blake. This book group was before it started having overwhelming sexual content. But even still I keep reading them, I am addicted to the character.
If you have never read any of the Laurell K. Hamilton books then you should start with the first one (this is a combo of the first 3 in the series) and work your way forward. This series features paranormal romance/thrillers, strong female leads, "adult situations" (later books), alternate lifestyles, monsters...human and otherwise.
I loved the first few books of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series before they turned into not plot but all porn in the 6th or 7th books and then on out. After that, it got really, really out there. These first three in this volume and then the next 2 are probably her best as far as I am concerned.
